Harnessing Pinterest to Create Social Media Posts & Promote Your Business

Sure, creating original content for you social media posts is by far the best way to improve your SEO (search engine optimization) and really stand out against other companies and individuals.  However, using all original content for your social media posts can be a daunting task, especially if you are just an individual building your own business, or a small business made up of only a few employees.  The good news is, if you fall in this category, that there is plenty of compelling content already out there to fill your daily social media postings. One of the most useful tools you can harness in order to search for awesome content to post is Pinterest.

There is a common misconception that Pinterest is a website only for women to log on and dream of their perfect wardrobe, home, and appearance.  However, if used in your favor, Pinterest can help you to find great websites, blogs, articles, infographics, and pictures to use in your social media posts. Here are some helpful tips on how to harness Pinterest to compile content for your social media posts:

  1. Search keywords and phrases that relate to your brand image and social media theme days.
  2. When searching for content, be aware of crossing the fine line between posting unique and relevant content, and posting uninformative and outdated content.  Be sure to read through any piece of content before posting. If there's a specific quote or tip that stands out, put in your post with quotes.
  3. When posting blogs and articles, provide the appropriate URL that directs viewers to the site which houses the content. If possible, also throw in a social media shoutout to the writer or brand which provided the piece of content.
  4. Save pictures and infographics to post on Instagram.  When posting these graphics, put your own filter or edits on the image to match your brand's image.

Pinterest can also be a great way promote your company's own blogs and webpage.  When posting any original content to Pinterest, it's important to accompany the post with an enticing image or graphic that accurately represents the page that viewers will be directed to.  That being said, you should also be sure that the correct URL and an informative description is connected to the post.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
